Luke Pyenson is a James Beard Award-nominated food and travel writer based in New York City. His work—features, recipes, styling, photos—has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Saveur, Punch, TASTE, Racquet, Eater Boston, Edible Boston, and other publications.
He was also the longtime drummer of critically acclaimed indie rock band Frankie Cosmos and founding drummer of cult DIY band Krill.
He holds an MA in The Anthropology of Travel, Tourism, and Pilgrimage from SOAS, University of London, and speaks French, Arabic, Spanish, and Italian.
His first book, Taste in Music: Eating On Tour with Indie Musicians, was published in 2024 via Chronicle Books. It was a Pitchfork Best Book of 2024 and a Saveur Best Narrative Food Book of 2024. Order it here!
